- Name — to personalise your experience
- Mobile number — to send WhatsApp reminders
- City — to understand our user base and improve the service
- Bill images and documents — to store in your private vault and extract warranty details
- Device / usage data — basic analytics to improve the product (no personal identifiers)
We do not collect your Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, or any financial information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Storing and retrieving your bills when you need them
- Sending you WhatsApp reminders before warranty expiry
- Notifying you about important product updates or new features
- Improving the BillBuddy service based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns
We will never use your data for advertising or share it with brands, retailers, or insurance companies.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your bills and personal information are stored on secure, encrypted cloud servers. We use industry-standard AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Access to your vault is restricted to you alone.
Only authorised BillBuddy team members can access anonymised operational data (e.g., total active users) — never individual bills or personal details.
5. WhatsApp Communications
By signing up, you consent to receive WhatsApp messages from BillBuddy, including warranty reminders and service updates. You can opt out at any time by messaging STOP to our WhatsApp number or emailing us at hello@billbuddy.in.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. We may share anonymised, aggregated data (e.g., "60% of users are from Tier-1 cities") for business purposes. We may share data with service providers (cloud hosting, analytics) strictly to operate BillBuddy, under data processing agreements.
We will disclose information if required by Indian law or a valid court order.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for WhatsApp communications at any time
